Branches, and large shrubs that cannot be cut into 4 foot bundles, placed in trash cans, or bagged will be picked up and chipped by Borough. This takes place the last week of each month, during April thru September only. For large amounts contact Borough prior. Fall Leaf Collection (Currently Collecting Until First Snowfall or December 20th) (Leaves Won't Be Collected at This Time)

  • Rake leaves to the curb.
  • Leaves should be raked into one or two large piles rather than several small piles.
  •  You may always bag leaves for regular trash pickup.
  •  Please do not mix brush or vines with leaves.
  • Leaves at curb will be collected Once, the 1st or 2nd week of December (leaves only). Signs will be posted indicating the day of collection and street cleaning. If possible, off-street parking that day is required for street cleaning. All other leaves may be bagged and placed at curb for regular trash collection.
  • Leaf piles containing, branch’s, twigs, weeds, or grass clippings will not be picked up by Borough. Leaves Only!  Thank you.

During leaf collection season (Fall thru Winter), the Public Works Department does not chip brush. Brush and the vegetative matter will be picked up with regular trash pick-up. Cut and tie into bundles no longer than 4-foot and no heavier than 40 pounds.

Large fallen branches and Christmas trees only shall be placed at curb and picked up by Borough periodically.

Snow Removal

During a snowstorm, the Public Works employees are working hard to make your streets safe. Borough trucks may plow your street several times, and as the snow rolls off the plows, it sometimes accumulates in driveways. Please understand that this is unavoidable, and it does become the homeowner’s responsibility to clear it. Here are some helpful hints to make “snow” removal less frustrating:

Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway facing the street to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway.

If possible, wait until the borough trucks have made at least three passes on your street before cleaning your driveway.

DO NOT PARK cars on the street from one hour after the snow has continuously fallen until 12 hours after the snow has stopped. This speeds the removal process and prevents cars from being plowed in.
